We used your equipment to study travel times along a signalized arterial (US 301) in Maryland. Our study corridor was several miles long. In general, the BluFax units worked very well for our data collection purposes. We set them out for nearly a week and the units held up well. The setup was fairly easy, although we did need clarification on one issue. However, that issue was quickly resolved with a phone call.
The data we collected met our objectives and provided us with a very good summary of travel times along our study corridor over multiple days. We obtained far more data than we could have with the more traditional technique of driving the corridor repeatedly.
The weather was nice (it was sunny and warm) so we were not able to see first-hand how well the units might hold up against the elements, but they seemed very well designed and appeared to be quite rugged. We studied each direction independently, placing the BluFax units on one side of the highway during the first half of the week of our study and then moving them to the other side to study the opposite direction for the second half of the week. It turns out that the units did pick up vehicles in the opposite direction. A quick review of our data showed that we recorded about 4 times the number of matched trips in the direction closest to the BluFax unit than in the opposite direction. Our road was about 180 feet wide.
Thanks for your help on our study, as I expect that we will likely work with you again in the future.
Jim

The demo is going fine. Your product works as advertised and is feeding our back office process without incident. This is a sample of the data results from the link for which your devices are deployed. Eastbound is the AM peak direction, Westbound is the PM peak direction. We have also prototyped a speed map for the area but it is still in development. The Traffax equipment furnishes us what we need for that too.
